When Walter Breen compiled his Complete Encyclopedia, he identified six different varieties of 1810 half eagles including three of this Small Date, Tall 5 combination. It is now believed that only four or five varieties exist. This example from the Bass Collection is from a different obverse than the Small Date example at HBCC-3119. This is the second most plentiful of 1810 varieties, but remains quite scarce.
